Sushi Birthday Cake

It was my cousin, Aidan's 8th birthday..and of all cakes he wanted he picked a sushi cake! He loves sushi and this was his special request, so of course, I obliged :)

He loves chocolate & strawberries, so it was a chocolate cake with fresh strawberries and cream as the filling.

I covered the cake in fondant, airbrushed it brown and kind of gave it that wood finish. Each "sushi" piece was made w/ fondant and coconut as the "rice." All the kids at the party were fighting over who got to get a piece of "sushi." The cake was a hit with the kids AND the adults!
